Dandelion-
An organisational tool
Overview of Dandelion

Dandelion is a tool to help creative freelancers manage time and track their professional progress.
The tool helps creatives prioritise by creating visualisations of factors like:
1. How time is spent
2. Type of project worked on
3. Money earned to help creatives prioritise
The Challenge
Working independently calls for a great deal of administration and self-promotion. It is easy to lose sight of professional goals and get bogged down by the nitty-gritty.
Additionally, freelancers do not have the system of regular reviews and clearly charted careers that an individual in an organisation might.

Features of Dandelion
The landing page acts as an entry point for multiple functions of the tool.
It provides a project flow for task management, and showcases four additional features as separate widgets. The widgets seen below allow easy time tracking, visualise the category ongoing projects fall into, identify which predefined metrics of success the user is working towards and provides a calendar function.

The tool has a repository of other features that are tracked and made available to the user. The interface allows the user to choose which four features appear on the homescreen widgets.
Day's Progress

A tracker of tasks for the day.
Skill Development

Resources to upskill.
Inspiration

A mood board of visual inspiration.
Find Work

Resources to find work.
The 'Time flies' Tracker
Each feature of the app opens up into a deep dive view. This is a look at the deep dive of the time management feature. The deep dive views also incorporate elements of data visualisation.

Creating a new project
The data collected here allows the tool to track the type of work the new project is classified into and its relevance to other goals the user might have. The user is provided with insights accordingly.

Your Day at a glance
At the end of the work day, identified by using the ‘Sign off’ function, the tool provides a visualisation of how the user's time was spent. This acts as a form of gamification and allows the user to review and share their progress.

User Experience Architecture

My Role
The project was a personal design exercise. I conceptualised the tool and designed the interface, user experience, and the visualisation of all data.
